Pokémon GO IV calculator

GO doesn't show IVs directly — they're hidden under the team leader appraisal. Plug in your Pokémon's CP, HP, and dust cost; we'll narrow down possible IV combinations.

This is a simplified IV checker. For full appraisal-based calculation, use the in-game team leader appraisal feature and cross-reference the descriptors with IV ranges below.

Current CP

Current HP

Use the in-game appraisal:

  • ★★★ red star = 13-15 IVs in that stat (perfect range)
  • ★★ orange = 8-12 IVs
  • ★ yellow = 4-7 IVs
  • No star = 0-3 IVs

How Pokémon GO IVs work

Every wild Pokémon in GO has three hidden IVs: Attack (0-15), Defense (0-15), and HP/Stamina (0-15). Combined, they range from 0 to 45 total IV points. A "perfect" or "hundo" Pokémon has 15/15/15 — exactly 1 in 4,096 wild encounters.

Boosted IV floors

Certain encounter types have IV floors (minimum IVs guaranteed):

  • Weather-boosted wild: 4/4/4 minimum (Lv 35 capped)
  • Tier 3-5 raid bosses: 10/10/10 minimum (Lv 20 unboosted, 25 boosted)
  • Research breakthrough rewards: 10/10/10 minimum
  • Trade IVs: 1/1/1 floor (10/10/10 for good friends, 12/12/12 great friends, 14/14/14 best friends, with bigger random ranges)
  • Lucky Pokémon: 12/12/12 floor (also half Stardust to power up)

IV importance per format

In Master League (no CP cap), 15/15/15 is the goal — highest possible CP. In Great League and Ultra League, optimal IVs are often not 15/15/15 — lower attack lets you reach max level under the CP cap, improving bulk. Use our PvP IV calculator to find the optimal spread for each league.
