How to evolve Electabuzz
Electabuzz evolves into Electivire (Electric) when traded while holding an Electirizer item. The item is consumed on evolution.
Linking Cord shortcut (Gen 8+): Give Electabuzz the Electirizer, then use a Linking Cord — no trade needed. Both items are consumed.
Where to find Electirizer: - Scarlet/Violet: Random drops from defeating Electabuzz/Electivire in the wild, or purchase from Delibird Presents for 5 BP after defeating Iono. - Older games: Hold item on wild Elekid (5% chance), or found in specific routes.
No level requirement, no time-of-day, no friendship.
Where to find Electabuzz
**Electabuzz** evolves from **Elekid** at level 30. Elekid is found in **Glaseado Mountain** electric-spawn zones in Scarlet/Violet. Wild Electabuzz can also be found there at higher levels (30-50).
Is Electivire worth using?
Electivire is RU-tier — Motor Drive ability gives +1 Speed when hit by an Electric move. Standard set: Wild Charge / Earthquake / Ice Punch / Flamethrower with Life Orb. Outclassed by other Electric-types like Iron Hands and Magnezone but unique for its 95 base Speed + mixed-attacker flexibility.
Trivia
Electivire was the first Electric pseudo-pseudo-legendary (base 540 BST). It was added in Gen 4 to give Electabuzz a Diamond/Pearl-era evolution alongside Magmortar and Tangrowth. The Electirizer item is one of the few items that requires holding-AND-trading.
