Overview

Ogerpon comes in 4 forms (Teal, Wellspring, Hearthflame, Cornerstone) each with its own mask. Wellspring is the standard VGC Reg H pick — Water/Grass typing covers most threats, Ivy Cudgel becomes Water-type and gets a 20% crit boost, and Water Absorb gives immunity to Water-type moves. Tera locks Ogerpon into its mask type (Tera Water for Wellspring) and boosts its ability.

Move analysis

Ivy Cudgel is Ogerpon's signature — 100 BP, +1 crit rate, becomes the mask's type. Wood Hammer for Grass STAB and Water/Ground threats (Quagsire). Knock Off for utility and Specs Gholdengo / Iron Valiant item removal. Spiky Shield is mandatory in VGC for the protect + chip damage.

Team partners

Indeedee-F (Follow Me), Iron Hands (handles Fairy threats), Pelipper (Rain + Water Absorb pairs), Tornadus (Tailwind).

What beats Ogerpon

Iron Hands (Wild Charge OHKO), Garchomp Earthquake (in singles formats), Iron Valiant Moonblast, Tera Fire bulky walls (resist Wood Hammer + Ivy Cudgel).
